Cumming-Forsyth Arts Council
The Cumming-Forsyth Arts Council was created in December 2007 to meet the number one need for moving the arts forward in the Cumming-Forsyth County community and to assist in offering events and programs for the community.
As a non-profit arts organization, the CFAC will be able to create its own events and programs to assist Forsyth County in making our community a more desirable place to live, thrive and retire.
The council will serve as the leadership organization for the arts in the Forsyth County area by supporting its member organizations in promoting artistic opportunities; by providing support, and fostering coordinated cultural planning; by offering programs to educate and develop future audiences; by providing forums of expression for local artists; and by advocating for the arts.
There are many opportunities to enjoy being a part of the arts, whether you are an artist or would like to support the arts by volunteering your time. Every job is a valuable one and all contribute to the successful promotion of the arts in our community.
The annual Sawnee Arts Festival held in the spring provides many opportunities to take part in the arts. Being a part of the festival team takes a lot of work and time, but the reward is in knowing that you are giving back to your community and making new friendships…and all while supporting THE ARTS!
There are many other opportunities to volunteer on projects or serve on committees. In addition, there are meetings for general membership to share information and input with fellow members as well as enjoying guest speakers.
Annual membership levels are available. The Patron, Sustaining, Supporting and Advocate levels allow for a donation over and above the regular membership amount for those who choose to make a major impact in the arts community. For information on volunteering or becoming a member, contact Sherri Douglass at sddouglass@mac.com – 770.605.7618 Coming Soon – www.cummingforsytharts.org
